Cardinals rout Somerville Yeguas

  The Cardinals continued their spotless season record on Friday (September 11, 2015),
  improving to 3-0 with a 56-12 victory over the Somerville Yeguas.
  
  St. Paul ran for 3 touchdowns a piece in each of the first two quarters.
  
  Conor Kresta opened up the scoring action with a 22- yard run, followed up by a
  successful 2-point conversion on a pass from Austin Barton to Nathan Pilat.
  
  T.J. Bell kept things rolling with the next two touchdowns on 45 and 10 yard runs to put
  the Cardinals up by 22 at the end of the first.
  
  In the second quarter, Jed Janacek started off the scoring with a touchdown run from the
  1-yard line, Ryan Geiger followed with a 40 yard scoring run, and Bell added one more as
  the clock winded down to close out the first half.
  
  St. Paul’s defense successfully held Somerville scoreless all through the first half,
  sending the Cardinals into halftime with 42-0 lead.
  
  Each of the quarters in the second half saw a rushing touchdown from St. Paul sophomore
  Tre’Zell Jenkins-Perry, on 33 and 19 yard runs, each matched by a Somerville rushing
  touchdown.
  
  The Cardinals ran for 401 total yards in their win over Somerville with Bell leading the
  way at 77 yards on 7 carries, Barton adding 75 yards on 4, and Kresta contributing 58
  yards on 4. Barton also completed 3 of his 5 pass attempts for 40 additional yards,
  connecting twice with Pilat for 34 yards.
  
  St. Paul will return to action at home on Friday (September 18, 2015) against the
  Flatonia Bulldogs.  Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
