Notes: Shiner (10-0) is the top seed in District 15-2A, and Riviera (7-3) is the fourth seed in District 16-2A.
Shiner has won five consecutive first-round games since losing to Goldthwaite in the 2009 regional round.
Shiner rolled to a 63-0 win over Corpus Christi London in last year's bi-district game played in Three Rivers.
Shiner is ranked No. 4 in the state poll and finished the regular season at 10-0 for the first time since 2004 when it won the state championship.
Shiner has yielded a total of 68 points, and is limiting opponents to an average of 149 yards per game.
Riviera lost its last two games.
Shiner's Dadrian Taylor has rushed for 1,073 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The winner will play the winner of Friday's game between Moody and Johnson City in the area round next week.
