Comanches get after Burton in final scrimmage

The Shiner Comanches traveled to El Maton to scrimmage against Tidehaven on Friday ( August 11, 2023 ).

The Shiner Comanches' varsity newcomers got their first taste of varsity action against the Tigers.
"We got off to a slow start but finished well," Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker said. "It was a sign of our young kids getting comfortable and up to speed with varsity-level competition."
The Shiner first-team offense scored one touchdown and the second-team offense scored twice.
Tidehaven scored two touchdowns.
"We need to improve our tackling and blocking," Boedeker said.
The Comanches will host Burton for a second scrimmage today ( Thursday, August 17, 2023 ), starting at 6 p.m for junior varsity and the varsity will follow.
Fans are asked to bring either a white towel or a bottle of laundry detergent to donate to the athletic program.
The Comanches will host the Hallettsville Brahmas to open the regular season [ on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 7:30pm ].
