“Super proud of all of these young ladies for competing at this level plus handling the pressure. Our Lady Comanches ran their lowest time of the year for each event,” Shiner girls track coach Ce Ce Oden said.
“Thanks to all the parents, families, teachers, administrators, school personnel, and community for their support.” Shiner brought home three total medals in individual events.
The 400-meter relay team of Kassidy Bishop, Charisma Thomas, Bailey Machacek and Rashel Bonds took the Gold with a time of 48.48 seconds.
Mackinly Pilat got Silver in the 300 hurdles with a 46.98 finish.
Bishop got Bronze in the triple jump with a best of 36-10 3/4. Her other jumps were 33- 3/4; 36-7 3/4 and 35-3 1/4. This is the first time she has gotten a medal in either the long or the triple jump.
“It feels amazing. Medaling in the jumps is all I’ve ever wanted to do at this meet,” Bishop said. “The triple jump is my strongest because I have strong legs so it helps me push through all three of the phases.”
The 1600-relay team of Bonds, Pilat, Kyondra Miller and Faith Wagoner took fourth with a time of 4:04.11.
Wagner was fifth in the 400 with a time of 59.78.
Bishop took fifth in the long jump with a best distance of 17-2 1/2 and her other jumps were 16-0, 17-1 3/4, 16- 11, 15-4 1/4 and 16- 1/4.
Thomas was sixth in the long jump with 17-2 and also reaching 15-4, 16-9 1/4, 16-11 3/4 and 16-9 1/4.
