Coach: Steven Cerny. DISTRICT 27-A - SHINER COMANCHES
Lettermen R/L: 13/16. Starters returning O/D: 4/6.
2008: 9-2 D1 regional finalist/4-1 district.
Players to watch: QB/DB/K Drew Stafford (5-10, 165, 4.7), RB Josh Greathouse (6-0, 205, 4.7). Top juniors: LB Brady Beal (6-1, 175, 4.7), LB Joey Gamez (5-9, 170, 4.8).
Other prospects: LB Game McAfee, NG Justin Weise, OT Dustin Boedeker, TE Tyler Forest, S Coy Boedeker, WR Curtis Shields.
2009 notes: The Comanches won't have the depth of last season, but they won't be without talent. RB Greathouse (1,377, 13 TDs) is a physical runner. Cerny says Stafford is a great all-around athlete who will be the starting QB and a DB. NG Wiese and LBs Beal and Gamez are back to lead a defense that yielded an average of 11.5 points per game and had 3 shutouts.
