Lettermen R/L: 18/14. Starters returning O/D: 2/8.
2007: 9-4 D1 quarterfinalists/6-0 district.
Key losses: Kyle Condel, Cody Franke, Kody Selzer
Players to watch: DT Kody Boedeker (5-11, 190, 5.2), DE Dalton Handley (6-4, 245, 5.1), DE Collin O'Connor (5-10, 225, 5.1), QB Matthew Hibbs (5-8, 180, 4.9), RB Adam Kalich (5-8, 165, 4.5). Top juniors: LB Ethan McAfee (5-10, 190, 5.0), RB Josh Greathouse (6-0, 210, 5.0). Top sophomore: LB Joey Gamez (5-8, 160, 4.8).
Other prospects: OG Philip Lopez, SS Drew Stafford, NG Justin Weise, LB Sam Murphy, LB Kirby Lee, WR Chris Kalina, LB Gabe McAfee, RB Lance Otto, DE Daniel Doran.
2008 notes: Coach Cerny says the Comanches should be better on offense but will have to make up for a lack of experience on offense. The defensive front should be solid with the return of DT Boedeker (80 tackles, 5 caused fumbles), who earned honorable-mention all-state, DE Handley who is a third-year starter, and DE O'Connor, who could also play on the offensive line. QB Hibbs started in the playoffs as a sophomore and Kalich played RB as a sophomore and will return to the position after playing WR last season.
