Coach: Steven Cerny. DISTRICT 31-A - SHINER COMANCHES
Lettermen R/L: 16/14. Starters returning 0/D 5/4.
2005: 10-3 regional semifinalists/6-0 in district.
Key Losses: Dylan Hagens (Baylor), Will Pekar (West Texas A&M), Trey Curtis.
Player to Watch: LB Chase Veit (5-11, 195, 5.17). Top junior: QB Kyle Condel (6-2, 190, 4.69). Top sophomore: LB Dalton Handley (6-1, 205, 5.19).
Other prospects: DE Derick Richter, RB D.J. Pustka, CB Josh Nance, C Kevin Patek, OT Julian Longoria, TE Mark Casteel.
2006 notes: Coach Cerny says his biggest concern is his lack of depth at the skill positions. Condel moves from WR to QB and RB Pustka was the district's newcomer of the year. LB Veit had 111 tackles last season and Richter, the all-district utility player at LB and NG moves to DE.
